Cross-cultural directions provide intercultural awareness workshops for those doing business in
multicultural environments and working with people of different languages and cultures, and for
those in schools and colleges who find themselves interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
We will assist participants working or living with people of different cultures, working within a
multi-cultural environment, or serving multi-cultural customers.
Our training aims to develop the skills necessary for living and working successfully across cultures,
and is essential for anyone working in a culturally diverse environment. We aim to enhance
understanding of cross-cultural issues and improve communication skills which minimize cultural
misunderstandings based on cultural differences.
Training for multicultural situations helps participants recognise the various ways culture influences
communication styles, perceptions, values, attitudes and behaviours, and understand how these affect
their working and personal experiences in a multicultural workplace. It will also help participants
to understand his/her own cultural history and values and how these are likely to affect interaction
with people from other countries.
All the workshops include the following interactive methods.
- Demonstration of the influence of personal experiences and cultural values on perception of others.
- Simulation of cross-cultural encounters.
- Role-play.
- Self-analysis and discussion.
